In January and February of 2023 I journeyed with Mark Gardner  and Al DaValle (“The Three Old Men with Cameras Winter Tour”) from Chicago to Mackinaw City, Montreal, Norridgewock, and finally Southwest Harbor next to Arcadia National Park.  We were mainly looking for snow covered rolling fields, trees draped in white and an old farmhouse or two in winter habitat.  While if a camera is in hand there is always an image to be made we didn’t find much snow.  Along the shores of Lake Michigan and several smaller lakes and streams, however, we found interesting subjects that kept us busy.  The album “Winter at the Water’s Edge” is from the first part of that trip as well as images from Arcadia National Park.

A day out of Montreal we randomly took a left hand turn down a small road and discovered a mother lode of fields, trees and farmhouses all dressed in white.  That album, “Land of Ice and Snow”, comprises images from that side road as well as images from interior Maine and Acadia National Park.
